Dr. Marcin J. Menkes

Marcin J Menkes is an experienced counsel, arbitrator, and legal expert specializing in international business disputes, including commercial arbitration and CJEU litigation.


He possesses extensive experience in cases involving sanctions, financial and M&A disputes, foreign direct investments, international trade, and construction.

Recognized internationally, Marcin is listed as an arbitrator by institutions in China, Austria, and Poland. The European Commission has also appointed him to the panel of Arbitrators and Trade and Sustainable Development (TSD) experts for dispute settlement under EU trade agreements.


Marcin advises as an expert for international bodies such as the World Bank, the World Justice Project, and the European Commission. He contributes to research through various analytical groups, including the International Law Association working committees on international investment law and commercial arbitration.


With a dual academic background in law (dr. habil.) and economics (Ph.D. studies), he holds professorships at the Warsaw School of Economics (where he heads the Postgraduate Programme in Law & Economics of the Capital Market) and as an adjunct professor at Vrije Universiteit Brussel.


He is admitted to the Bars of Brussels and Warsaw.


Marcin is fluent in English, Polish, French, and Italian, with elementary proficiency in Spanish.
